The Jigsaw of You

What are the pieces of your life?

For anyone who has drifted into a job and wondered how they ended up there.

I started work at nine, delivering fizzy drinks around Edinburgh, left school at 15 and went on to nearly 30 years in IT leadership at firms including PwC and EY. This book turns what I learned into questions you can use to work out what you want next.

The Jigsaw of You

The Narcissist Pattern

For the man who knows something is wrong in his relationship but can't put a name to it.

Each chapter takes one trait, tells the story of when it happened to me, and ends with questions to help you recognise it in your own life. It also covers what I learned fighting through the family courts to stay in my daughter's life.

Paul Walton

An ordinary Scottish lad

I grew up in Edinburgh in a working-class family where the message was simple: leave school and earn money. Nobody mentioned university. I left at 15 for an apprenticeship boarding up council houses, then took an office junior job at Ernst & Whinney because it paid £6 a week more and was indoors.

That job took me to London, Coopers & Lybrand and nearly 30 years in IT leadership. Along the way I managed and coached a lot of people, and in 2018 I qualified as a transformational coach.

I wrote these books for people who got as little guidance as I did.

Direct. Realistic. Experienced.

I also co-run PI Advisory, which trains people to speak with confidence.
